Lucy Degnian Dip. Dance
Lucy’s love of dance began when she was just 4. She was always dancing to Wiggles songs at home so she started formal ballet classes at Amelia’s Studio of Dance in Rockhampton. As time went on, she added jazz and tap to her dance skills, completing annual exams in RAD Ballet and FATD Jazz and Tap, proudly achieving consistent Distinctions throughout. She also participated in many Eisteddfods and Dance Festivals over this time, achieving much success. A highlight was winning the much coveted Open Ballet Pointe trophy at the Rockhampton Eisteddfod at the age of just 14.
In 2010, Lucy auditioned for, and was successful in gaining a place at, the Queensland Dance School of Excellence, run in conjunction with Queensland Ballet. While there, she achieved a Distinction in her final ballet exam for RAD Advanced 2. She completed the intensive two year course at Kelvin Grove State College in 2012 which also resulted in the attainment of a Diploma of Dance.
Since 2010, Lucy has shared her love of dance by teaching a range of dance students in both Rockhampton and Brisbane. She is also presently studying a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology at QUT.
Mimi started her dance training at 4 years of age. She has completed her RAD ballet exams up to Advanced 1 and is currently learning and preparing for her Advanced 2 exam. She trained in CSTD tap and jazz completing annual exams.
At the age of 11, Mimi was a finalist in the Jacqueline Moreland awards. She was also talented enough to become a finalist the following year! She performed with the Brisbane City Youth Ballet from 2009 to 2012. In 2012, she was accepted into Queensland Ballet’s Junior Extension Program and successfully completed the two year program in 2013.
Mimi has been teaching since 2013 and loves to inspire her students. She specialises in teaching the younger students and especially loves to share her passion for tap dancing.
